James F. Keenan III

1941 – 2020

Suffield, CT – James F. "Jim" Keenan III, 78, died peacefully Wednesday morning surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was born December 25, 1941 in Springfield the son of the late Jeanne and James Keenan II.  He graduated from Cathedral High School, received his bachelor's degree as well as a Master's Degree in Education from A.I.C.  He taught Math and English at the Agawam Middle School for 30 years, retiring in 2000.  He served with the United States Army National Guard from 1963-1969.  Jim loved playing golf and was a member of the Sons of Erin in Westfield, where he enjoyed playing cards. He had many friends who would meet daily at Giovanni's Bakery to share stories and laughs.  Jim leaves his loving wife of 52 years Sandra (Peck) Keenan; two daughters Krista Pulcifur and her husband Brian Osborne, Jennifer Zapolski and her husband Scott; four grandchildren Lyndsey, Royce, John and Lauren; two sisters Kathleen Jarvis and Karen Harabin; a brother Thomas J. Keenan and a son-in-law Alan Pulcifur.  Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by a sister Jeanne Mantovani.  Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00pm.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Suffield Community Aid, 450 South Street, Suffield, CT 06078.
