James M. Martel

1964 – 2022

Agawam – James M. Martel, 58, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon November 8th in Agawam.  Jim was born in Springfield, son of Joan (O'Connor) Martel and the late William A. Martel, and lived in Agawam all his life.  He was a 1982 graduate of Agawam High School.  After high school he worked at Southgate Liquors for many years.  He also worked at Belt Technologies in Agawam and the Eppendorf Manufacturing Company in Enfield.  He was an avid outdoorsman and longtime member of the Mawaga Sportsmen Club.  Besides his mother, he leaves four children; Brian J. Martel, Alexandra M. Martel, Victoria L. Martel and Logan J. Martel; brothers, Robert Martel and wife Karen,  Peter Martel and wife Denise, his former wife Claudine (Talbot) Prescott; grandchildren Ashton Diaz and Tucker Tersavich and many other dear family and friends.
