James W. Russell, 48, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at home.  Born in Springfield, September 21, 1976, he is the son of Michael J. Russell and the late Geraldine M. (Powell) Russell who died in 2023. He grew up and attended Agawam Schools and was 1996 graduate of Agawam High School. James attended Holyoke Community College and worked as a landscaper at the American Inn, also working at Feeding Hills Redemption Center, C & S Food, Home Depot Warehouses and Loomis and other security jobs, ending at Savage Arms.  He enjoyed collecting sport cards, backpacking in the Adirondacks, canoeing in Maine and Bayside beaches at Cape Cod.  He and his dad hiked M&M Trail end to end.  He leaves to grieve, his father, Michael J. Russell of Feeding Hills, a brother, Jeremy Powell of Ellington, CT, and his friend, Crissy.  The family wishes to thank everyone who has helped James this past difficult year, especially Eric of Baystate Hospice who made his last few days better.
