Janet Elizabeth (Clark) Fox passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023.  Janet was born in Winstead, CT and grew up in Tolland, MA, the only daughter of the late Allen and Charlotte (Wilcox) Clark.  She was predeceased by her husband Paul Fox in 2015.  She had lived in West Springfield for over 45 years.  Janet attended Colby college in Waterville, Maine in 1960 and graduated from Westfield State University.  She was a teacher at the high school level in Enfield, CT and later a professor at Bay Path University.  She was a long-time member of Springfield Country Club where she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and was an avid golfer.  Janet loved traveling and ventured to Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and South America.  She loved orchids because they are stronger than you think.  She loved her students and remembered taking them to Mystic to see a whale after reading Moby Dick.  She was a gardener, keeping a beautiful greenhouse at her home, a huge Red Sox fan and a lover of nature and all animals, especially her late cat, Duval.  Janet leaves her friends and dear neighbors.  A committal service will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
