Chicopee-Janet E. Lemieux, 71, of 665 McKinstry Ave., passed away March 13, 2015, at Holyoke Hospital. Janet was born in Holyoke January 6, 1944 to the late Cynthia Beatrice Lindstead and her late father William Russell McCorkindale. Janet was a graduate of South Hadley High School in 1962 and was an employee at Westover Air Force base for 30 years working her way up to Materials handler first level supervisor. She retired from Westover Airforce Base in the year 2000. Janet was a completely selfless person. Her passions included knitting and other art projects. She was very innovative, she could make the most with the least. Janet was a great person to talk to, trust and confide in. You could always count on her listening ear. She was a very tough but loving person and generous to a fault. Janet loved her country and always saw the best in people. Janet will be deeply missed by those that loved her. She is survived by her step son Joseph E. Donald. Her funeral service will be Thursday at 1pm at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley. Burial will take place in the spring.
