Janet (Simons) Marble, 93, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2020. She was the wife of Ross K. Marble who died in 2012, and a long-time resident of West Springfield. She was born August 7, 1926 in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of Robert Simons and Mildred Simons Weake. She graduated from the former Springfield Technical High School with honors including the Warner Achievement Award. She worked in the office of A.G. Spaulding, the Eastern States Farmers Exchange, was a teachers aid in West Springfield and in the office of the former Lotus, Glass and China in West Springfield. She was a long-time member of Mittineague Congregational Church, the Daughters of the Nile and a volunteer at the Shriners Hospital for Children. In addition to her husband, her sister JoAnne S. Weake and son-in-law Tom Allen predeceased her. She is survived by her son David R. Marble and wife Jean of Gainesville, VA, daughter Deborah Allen of West Springfield, granddaughters Jessica Hoyt (Rich) and Allison Gilmore (Tim), and great grandchildren Sarah, Nick, Colleen and Natalie. The family thanks Monastery Heights Assisted Living in West Springfield for 6 years of care, and Day Brook Village nursing home in Holyoke for care in her final months. Burial will be private.
