Obituary

Janice A. (Lawor) Deveno, 79, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late William and Isabelle (Birk) Lawor, she was a lifelong resident of Agawam and a 1964 graduate of Agawam High School.  She also graduated from Springfield Technical Community College. Janice worked for over twenty years at WIC in West Springfield and was a communicant of the former St. Theresa's Church in Agawam.  Her husband, William G. Deveno died in 2021.  She leaves two sons and their wives, Kevin W. Deveno and Anna Pellas of Pittsburgh, PA, Jason M. and Amy Deveno of Feeding Hills, a daughter and her husband, Melissa A. and Steven Fraga of West Springfield, a sisters, Bonnie Kocsany of West Springfield, five grandchildren, Nathan Fraga, Kyle and his wife Shanna Fraga, Allison Deveno, Elizabeth Deveno, Eli Deveno, a great-grandson, Jack M. Fraga, two nieces, Heather Gentile and her husband Christopher Gentile, Kayla Kocsany, a great-niece, Sadie Kocsany and a great-nephew, Anthony Gentile. Calling hours are Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 2-4:30pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Funeral Home Service at 4:30. The burial will be private.
