Obituary

Jean Lois (Perry) Bradley passed away on April 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was the daughter of Edith (Mosher) and Herbert Perry and was raised with her brothers Herbert, Richard, and Neil in the West Springfield, Massachusetts area. She graduated from West Springfield High School where she participated in plays, singing, dancing and playing drums in the marching band. Her love of music and the arts has been passed on too many of her children and grandchildren.  Jean was predeceased by John, her loving husband of 62 years whom she met when she went to work for American Mutual Insurance Company. The minute she laid eyes on John she knew he was the one for her and they married and moved to Winchester, MA., where they raised four children. Jean loved to bake and cook, and one would be hard pressed to find a better pie crust or scratch made peanut butter cookies. She was an incredibly accomplished Counted Cross Stitcher winning numerous awards at the Big E. State Fair in West Springfield. Her artwork will be enjoyed and passed down to current and future generations. Jean was a homemaker in Winchester, a medical transcriber and member of The Council of Ageing and an original associate with the Jenks Senior Center. Jean also provided emergency, on-call counseling for the Drug Concern Hotline working with the late Dr. Donald McLean. John and Jean were members of the bowling league, Couples A Go-Go for many years and enjoyed the many friendships created through this group.  Jeans greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She leaves her family of four children: Jay and his wife Donna of Wells, ME, Stephen of Forest, VA, Neil and his wife Sara of Melrose, MA and Beth Reeves and her husband Michael of Hudson, NH. Six grandchildren: J.T., Tim, Samantha and her husband Jason, Conor, Kevin and Garrett as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at the First Congregational Church in the Ripley Chapel, 21 Church St, Winchester, MA on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:30am. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be made to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St, Springfield, MA 01105 or www.dakinhumane.org  (413) 781-4000.
