Jean Ann (Paolino) Michaud, of Chicopee, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2017. She was born April 22, 1934 in Springfield, Mass., daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Sullivan) Paolino. She was raised in Springfield and was a 1951 graduate of Cathedral High School. She lived in Springfield until moving to Chicopee in 1963 where she raised her five children with her late husband of 57 years, Bill. Jean was a 27 year employee of F.A. Bassette Printers. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Jean enjoyed her many casino trips and making sure her family and friends were always well-fed with her delicious Italian cooking and baked treats. Besides her devoted husband Bill, Jean was predeceased by her parents, brothers John (Helen) and Edward, sister Margaret Shibley (Gerald), and son-in-law Giovanni Galui. Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory her "Sunshine" Anthony Michaud (Karen), loving daughters, Denise Giroux (Walter), Diane Galui (Giovanni), Darlene Graham (Michael), Christine Costello (Kevin); beloved grandchildren, Carolyn Battista (Carmine), Kristen Reid (Andy), Cathryn LaDuke (Dan), Anthony, Mike (Tracy), Brian, Neil, Meghan, Gina, and Michael, and great grandchildren Braydon, Gianna, Abigail, Madison, Drew, and Domenic. Jean also leaves her cousins Francis Donahue and Albert Bruso, her sister-in-law Anne Marie Paolino, whom she regarded as a sister, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Jean's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Baystate Hospice for their extraordinary and compassionate care shown to Jean and her family during Jean's illness. The funeral will be Thursday starting with calling hours at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:30 am followed by Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 396 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
