Jeanne B. Webster
1929 – 2021
Agawam – Jeanne A. (Bailey) Webster, 91, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021. A resident of Agawam since 1952, Jeanne was born on April 5, 1929 in Suffield, CT to the late George and Florence (Birge) Bailey. She was a proud, life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Agawam where she was a member and past President of the Music Committee, a member of the Board of Deacons and was a soloist in the Church choir. Jeanne was also a soloist at other area churches over the years and enjoyed playing the piano, as well. Jeanne had many interests, but music was her passion. She was a past President of the Agawam Women's Club, the Tuesday Morning Music Club of Springfield, and the former Arts Club of Springfield. Jeanne was also a member of the Chromatic Club of the Springfield area. For fifty years she was a Trustee of the Captain Charles Leonard House in Agawam. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Ralph L. Webster, who passed away in 2017 and her siblings Harold, Barbara, Douglas, Gwendolyn, Carlton, and Lois. She is survived by her three loving sons and their wives Lawrence (Ronie) of Wilbraham; Gary (Jean) of Orleans, MA; Russell (Diane) of Feeding Hills; grandsons Tyler of Los Angeles and Adam (Hayley) of Arlington, MA; a brother Kendall of East Dover, VT and many nieces and nephews. Burial for Jeanne will be private at the family's request in the Agawam Center Cemetery. A Celebration of Life memorial service will take place at a later date. The Webster Family would like to thank the staff at Vero Health Care of Wilbraham for their compassion and care of their mother during her short time there. The Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Agawam, The Captain Charles Leonard House in Agawam, or Shriners Hospital in Springfield.
