Joan (Manning) Daley, 86, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Moriarty) Manning, she was a 1949 graduate of the High School of Commerce. She moved to West Springfield in 1970. Joan was a member of the Ramapogue Women's Club, an avid reader, huge Red Sox fan and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing bridge at the Senior Center. She will miss her daily conversations with her good friend, Joyce Saimeri. She was also a communicant at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. She met the love of her life, Thomas P. Daley when they were both working at Aetna and enjoyed 49 years of marriage before he died in 2008. She leaves four children, James P. Daley and his wife, Rosalie, Anne E. Klejna and her husband, Joseph, Kathleen J. Daley, Thomas M. Daley and his wife, Claire all of West Springfield, and nine grandchildren, Ryan, Kellan, Brendan, Meghan, Joseph, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Erin and Connor. She relished her role as matriarch and grandmother and lived life to the fullest. She will miss her furry friend, Boo Boo kitty. Our special thanks go out to the staff at Murphy-Avis Assisted Living and to Baystate Medical MassMutual 7 heart unit for their care and support. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Monday May 8 at 10AM at St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., West Springfield. The burial will be private. Donations may be made to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St., Springfield, MA 01105. Curran Jones Funeral Home in West Springfield is handling the arrangements.
