Obituary

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Joan E. (Mahoney) Lafleur died Thursday night. Joan was born and educated in Chicopee, attended Framingham State College for her degree in Business. She studied and taught ballet in Springfield and Boston. She also worked as a teller for the First National Bank of Boston in Brookline. Her husband of 56 years, Frederick Lafleur, died in February of this year. She leaves her sister Mary, "Fuzzy" Mahoney, of Milwaukee and a brother, John Mahoney, and his wife Colette of Falmouth, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Roy B. Mahoney and Mary E. (Kelly) Mahoney. She was also predeceased by her sisters Marguerite Seipel, Marie McLaughlin and Barbara McNulty and a brother Roy "Junior" Mahoney. The funeral will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Pine St., West Springfield, Tuesday at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. For more details, please visit curranjones.com.
