Joann L. Fenton
1930-2011
SPRINGFIELD-Joann L. (Mullin) Fenton, 81, died Saturday in Baystate Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1930 in Springfield, daughter of the late Catherine Haggerty Mullin and Edward J. Mullin. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School class of 1947 and was employed by New England Telephone Company and the H.L. Handy Company. Mrs. Fenton was the wife of Police Chief Paul J. Fenton, who died July 1, 2007. She leaves three sons, Timothy A. Fenton and his wife Deborah of East Longmeadow, Paul J. Fenton Jr. and his wife Nona of Brewster, MA and Nashville, TN and David G. Fenton and his wife Nancy of Chicopee, seven grandchildren Christopher, Caroline, Andrew, P.J., Owen, Ashley and Brooke and a brother Philip J. Mullin of West Springfield. She was predeceased by her sister Mary M. Scannell and brothers Edward and Alan Mullin. The funeral will be Friday September 2, 2011 at 9 am from West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10 am. Burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday September 1, 2011 from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
