Joanne M. Danford

Agawam-Joanne M. Danford, 70, died peacefully Friday, June 17, 2016 surrounded by her family. Joanne was born in Brookline and had lived in Agawam most of her life before moving to Northampton 11 years ago. She graduated from Cathedral High School, Baypath College, Our Lady of the Elms and received her teaching degree from Westfield State College. She worked for the State of Massachusetts Division of Employment Security's office in Chicopee. She leaves her sister Miriam Assad, her husband Charles; two nieces Kristin Dicioccio, her husband Michael and their daughter Ali and Kerry Rubio, her husband David and their sons Jayce and Jayden. A private funeral will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church followed by burial in St. Jerome Cemetery. The Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. Donations may be made to the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Shelter.
