John C. Cody entered eternal rest on Friday, November 5th, 2021, with his wife Eleanor at his side. Born in Springfield, son of the late William F. and Clara M. (Cavicchi) Cody, he was a lifelong resident of West Springfield and a 1957 graduate of West Springfield High School. Jack, as he was known by all, worked for many years in the transportation industry, as a driver, terminal manager, and lastly as a very successful salesman. In retirement, he continued his love of the road by driving for Durochers Florist and then Thrifty Car Rental. Jack was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Lexington, and a longtime member of the Dante Club, and the Ludlow Fish and Game club. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, fly fishing, snowmobiling, outdoor photography, and many long walks with his beloved Spaniel Danny at his side. His life will be remembered by his wife of sixty-three years, Eleanor R. (Fabbri) Cody, his son and daughter in law, John W. and Tina Cody of Naples, Florida, his daughters, Deborah A. and her husband James Roper of Ludlow, and Lisa M Cody of West Springfield, three grandchildren, Allison Clubb, Nicholas Cody, Johnny Graziano, and great granddaughter, Lauren Cody. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at 10am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
