Obituary

John P. Dauplaise, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, the son of the late Edmund and Yvonne (Letendre) Dauplaise, John lived in West Springfield for 56 years. Before retiring in 1988 he worked as a lithographer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a proud Korean War veteran. John was a Friend of Bill for over thirty years, and a member of the West Springfield Lodge of Elks. His family will remember him as an accomplished hunter, golfer, story teller and comedian, never missing an opportunity for a laugh. John is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, and the love of his life, Marion E. Dauplaise. He was lucky to have six daughters, Diane Yvonne Dauplaise who predeceased him in 1957, Deborah Kruger, Karen Deprey, Marion Dauplaise, Mary Teece, and Ann Montanari; siblings Gregory Dauplaise, Theresa Boldys, Irene Porcello, and Dora Barlow; grandchildren Steven, Deborah, Daniel, Julie, Travis, Jason, Antonio, Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Penelope, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9am from the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 3 to 6pm.
