WEST SPRINGFIELD-John H. Freshour, 96, died Sunday at home. He was born, raised and educated in Springfield before moving to West Springfield in 1950. He was a 1968 graduate of Western New England College and was a retired design engineer for Chandler-Evans in West Hartford, CT. John was a Navy veteran of WWII, a longtime member of the First Congregational Church and the Elks Lodge #2174. He was predeceased by his wife Roberta (Alvord) Freshour in 2006. He leaves a son Kent A. Freshour of Exeter, NH, two daughters Marjorie L. Freshour of Agawam and Barbara L. Khorasani of Spencer, MA, four grandsons and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 am at the First Congregational Church followed by burial in East Cemetery in Shelburne. Calling hours at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home will be Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
