John A. (Jack) Richter, 89, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Holyoke Medical Center. Jack grew up in Springfield, MA and graduated from Cathedral High School. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War serving as a medical technician. He attended Wentworth Institute and became employed by United Technologies where he worked as a draftsman until his retirement in 1991. Jack was a Friend of Bill and began a new career working as a peer counselor at Quarry Hill and the Carlson Center for several years. He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Legate) Richter. Jack will be dearly missed by his son Todd Richter of Chicopee, his loving daughter Lisa Richter of Pittstown, NJ, his granddaughter Carolynne Dice of Ware, his grandsons Conor, Taran and Tristan Richter and great-grandchildren Brennan and Elena. He was predeceased by his brothers Frederick and James. Jack enjoyed keeping up with current events, drawing, finding tag sale treasures and he was an avid Red Sox fan. He had a special place in his heart for his little dog, Trooper.  All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
