John "Jack" E. Starzic
1959 – 2016

West Springfield – Jack E. Starzic, 57, of Wilbert Drive died peacefully at home Saturday afternoon. Jack was born in Westfield the son of Eugene and Virginia (Burt) Starzic. He grew up in West Springfield, graduated from West Springfield High School in 1977, and has lived here all his life. He received both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from American International College. He worked as a School Adjustment Counselor for the Westfield School System and was a Mental Health Counselor for the Mt. Tom Center for Mental Health and Recovery. Jack was very active on several Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities Committees and received numerous awards for his continued dedication. He leaves his loving wife of 33 years Melanie (Kafantis) Starzic; his son and "Pride and Joy" Benjamin John Starzic; proud parents Eugene and Virginia Starzic; loving Brother Scott D. Starzic and several loving nieces and nephews. Jack's compassion and selflessness in helping others was felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A private funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at Tucker's Restaurant in Southwick on Saturday from 11:00 – 2:00pm.
