Jose A. Garcia

Springfield – Jose A. Garcia, 84, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center.  Jose was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, lived in New York before moving to Springfield in 1975.  He was a retired Counselor for the Gandara Mental Health Center in Springfield.  He leaves a son Jose Garcia; sister Martha Morales; six grandchildren Hayna, Tony, Stephanie, Angel Luis Lopez, Midnedy Carrucini, and Mykaeila Vega and seven great grandchildren.  Jose was predeceased by his children Meliset and Edwin Garcia.  Visiting hours will be from the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday starting at 11:00am with a funeral home service at noon followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com .  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
