Joseph E. Conniff, 85, of Westfield and Hemet, CA, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2016 in California. He was born in Westfield to parents Joseph and Irene (Arkoett) Conniff and was educated at St. Mary's Grammar and High School. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Korean War. He worked for 40 years at S & M Vendors of Springfield. Joe was a golfer, music lover, film buff, and avid chess player. He was predeceased by his first wife Janet (English) Conniff in 1968. He leaves his wife of 35 years, Louise Conniff, sons Stephen Conniff and wife Anca of Dubai, Ray Conniff of Northampton, Edward Conniff and wife Laura of TX, and Joseph Conniff and Robyn of WA; daughters Susan Conniff of OR, Paula Conniff and husband Don of Westfield, and Dawn Martin of NC; grandchildren Jeffrey, Tiffany, Nicholas, Christopher, Janet-Marie, Brandon, Ione, and great grandchild Blair Olivia. He is also survived by his brother Francis and his wife Shirley of TX; sister Margaret Kibbe of West Springfield; brothers-in-law James English of PA, David English of Canada, Kevin English of Amherst, Paul Kelly of Longmeadow, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is predeceased by siblings Trudie Labucki, Ruth Kelly, Thomas, and Arthur. The funeral will be held from the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 9:15 am with Liturgy in St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 am followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
