Joseph V. Mineo

SPRINGFIELD-Joseph V. Mineo, 59, died Monday at home. He was born in Springfield, MA, son of the late Vincent J. and Beverly (Poehler) Mineo. He was a graduate of Holy Name School and Cathedral High School where he played hockey. Joe worked at Preferred Auto as the Finance manager and was in the car business for 30 years. A New York sports fan, Joe loved the Yankees and the New York Giants. Joe's favorite place was Newport, RI where he spent time with his family. An avid golfer, Joe had a hole in one and a double eagle. He leaves a daughter, Andrea Giroux of Springfield, sisters, Mary Scibelli and her husband Dino of East Longmeadow, Beth Mineo and her husband Bob Young of West Springfield, a brother Vincent Mineo of Springfield, nephew, Nicholas Scibelli and a niece Jacqueline Mackechnie. The funeral service will be Friday at 5 pm at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home. A calling hour will precede the funeral on Friday from 4-5 pm.
