Juan A. Rivera, Sr, 84, passed away March 4 with his family by his side.  He was born in Aibonito, PR on September 7, 1939 to the late Angel and Eulalia Rivera.  Juan worked for over 35 years before retiring from Jahn Foundry.  Juan enjoyed gardening his finca, fishing, playing his guitar, singing, cooking, and hosting family pig roasts.  He was known best for his humor, laughter and ability to "lite up the room" with his storytelling.  Juan leaves his wife Aida Lopez-Rodriguez, his children and their spouses; Carmen and Angel Aponte, Janette and Daniel Rivera, Anthony and Rebecca Rivera, and Juan Jr. and Luz Rivera all of Spfld; his 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews; and countless stories untold. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held SAT 10 AM in the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, 260 State St., Spfld. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Spfld. Calling Hours will be held FRIDAY from 4 to 7 PM at the CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 MAIN ST., W. SPFLD.
