Obituary

Judith A. (Long) Genetelli, 77, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Wingate of South Hadley following a long illness. She was born in Holyoke the daughter of the late John E. and Adeline (Kane) Long and has lived in South Hadley most of her life. Judith was a retired switchboard operator at the Holyoke Medical Center and was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She was an avid Red Sox fan, sang with the Dan Kane Singers and was the lead singer in a local band Peppermill. Judith loved the beach, crossword puzzles, reading, cross stitch and spending time with her grandchildren Matthew, Maya, and Rylee. Judith leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Robert B. Genetelli Sr., daughter Lisa J. Genetelli of Turners Falls, son Robert B. Genetelli Jr. and his wife Allison, of Prides Crossing, MA, daughter Karen M. Genetelli, and her partner Matthew Mullin of Chicopee, a sister Phyllis Keller of Modesto, CA and her beloved grandchildren Matthew, Maya and Rylee. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Ellen (Long) Clifford. The funeral will be Friday, December 21st at 9:00 am from Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by Mass at St. Patrick's Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley, MA at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at St. Rose Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
