Judith A.
Levreault
February 19, 1941 – February 12, 2017
Judith A. (Gagne) Levreault (Judy), 75, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2017. She passed peacefully at home, with her family by her side. Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and Theresa (McGough) Gagne. A lifelong resident of South Hadley, Judy graduated from South Hadley High School in 1958 and was treasurer of their reunion committee. Judy was a registered nurse, receiving her Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 1962 from the University of Massachusetts. Upon graduation, she worked as a public health nurse in Amherst. After her children were grown, Judy returned to nursing as a substitute nurse for the towns of South Hadley and Granby. She then retired as the school nurse for South Hadley High School. Judy was a former member of St. Theresa's Church, where she was a lector and active in their religious education program. She was most recently a member of St. Patrick's Church, and assisted in their monthly blood pressure clinic. Judy had also been an active member of the Cursillo movement. One of Judy's greatest joys in life was raising her eight children with her beloved husband, the late Lester P. Levreault, and later welcoming their grandchildren into the world. Judy loved spending time with family and friends, traveling to visit her grown children and sisters, and experiencing new adventures. She was always one to appreciate the simple beauties in life. Judy dedicated her life to serving others, growing in faith with God, and spreading kindness to all she met. Memories of her loving nature and warm smile will surely be cherished by those who were blessed to have had her in their lives. Judy is survived by her eight children, Julie A. Levreault of Naples, FL; Joseph P. and his wife Laura Levreault of Portsmouth, RI; Joanne E. Levreault of San Diego, CA; Jeffrey L. and his wife Tiffanie Levreault of South Hadley; Jill L. and her husband Blaine Brown of Dover, DE; James P. Levreault and his wife Adeline Favier of St. Cloud, France; Jennifer M. and her husband Roy Sabourin of South Hadley; John J. Levreault of South Hadley; her three sisters, Theresa Elaine Gagne and her husband Donald Dinwoodie of Colorado Springs, CO; Barbara Smith of Baja, Mexico; Mary Beth O'Meara Miller and her husband Toby Miller of South Hadley; her eighteen grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces, who adored their Auntie Judy. Calling hours will be on Friday, February 17 from 4-7 pm at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley. Friends and family may meet for funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 18 at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or The Ladies Guild of St. Patrick's Church. For more details please go to curranobrien.com.
