West Springfield - June Marion (Maxwell) Heelon, 92, of West Springfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her mother Madeline, father Gilbert, and brother Gilbert Maxwell Jr., June was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on June 9, 1933. June was the beloved wife of William Heelon of West Springfield.  She leaves her children Mark Heelon and his wife Michele, and David Heelon and his wife Kelly. She was a cherished grandmother to Madeline Heelon, Jonathan Heelon, and Ryan Heelon. June grew up in Springfield and spent most of her life in West Springfield, Massachusetts. She graduated from the High School of Commerce and worked as a secretary at Eastern States Farmers Exchange and as a teller at West Springfield Federal Credit Union. She was a communicant of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in West Springfield. She enjoyed family vacations at Cape Cod and Hampton Beach and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, watching them grow. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday JANUARY 20, 2026 from 9:30 – 10:30AM followed by Liturgy in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 11:00am with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
