With deepest sorrow, we announce that Justin S. Rising, 30, of West Springfield, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, March 5 ^th . Justin was born and raised in West Springfield, the son of Natalie and Scott Rising. Justin graduated from West Springfield High School in 2007. Justin was a kind, thoughtful and loving son, brother and father. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing and volunteering for the West Springfield Environmental Committee at Mittineague Park. Justin also had a strong love of animals. Other hobbies included music and basketball. His greatest joy in life though was spending time with his eight-year-old son, Landon.

Justin leaves behind his parents, two brothers, Alec and Kyle, his son Landon, Landon's mother, Maresa Russo, and his grandparents: Douglas and Louise Sussman; and Marilyn Rising, as well as many cousins and friends. Justin is predeceased by his grandfather Alan S. Rising and his cousins Danielle Trueman and John Daniel Dwyer V. A funeral service will be held for Justin on Saturday at 11 am at the West Springfield Curran Jones. A calling hour will be held before the funeral from 10 – 11 am.
