WEST SPRINGFIELD – Karl G. Vogel, 75, of Labelle Street died Saturday surrounded by his family in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Karl was born in Ludlow and has lived in West Springfield all his life. He worked at Hamilton Sundstrand as a Vibrations Technician for 37 years until his retirement in 1999. A United States Army veteran of the Korean War, Karl also was an active swimmer at the YMCA and loved to go to Tag Sales. He leaves his wife of 54 years Irene (Brow) Vogel; his children Karl Vogel, Paula Privitera and her husband Steve and Connie Karam; two brothers John and Phillip Vogel and four grandchildren Tiffany and Tyler Karam and Joshua and Olivia Privitera. He was predeceased by a brother George and sister Marlene Camp. A committal service will be held in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:00am. There are no calling hours and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
