Katharen (Wermuth) Clifford, 82, died Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Boston and lived there until moving to Westfield at the age of 9. Westfield became home, but she continued to spend many summers in Boston throughout her school years. Woodstock, VT held a special place in her heart, having spent several summer and school vacations there with her extended family. She eventually moved to West Springfield to raise her family, and lived there for over 25 years. In the 1980's, she and her husband, Jack moved back to Westfield, settling into Stoney Hill Condominiums. In 2011, after the death of her husband, she moved to The American Inn in Southwick where old friendships were renewed and new ones formed. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in West Springfield and attended the Westfield Evangelical Free Church. She was partner in Preservation member of Stanley Park. Predeceased by her husband Jack R. Clifford, she leaves a son John E. Clifford and his wife Melissa, of Madbury, NH; two daughters, Cheryl A. Marco, and her husband Edward, of Havertown, PA, and Frances C. Healey and her husband Brian, of North Andover. She also leaves a sister Leal Baudoin and six grandchildren, Carli and Abby Marco, Emma and Bridget Healey and Jack and Nathaniel Clifford. The funeral will be held at the Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield Saturday at 11:00am with private burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
