Kathleen M. (Brown) Cardinale, affectionately known as Kathy, Mom, Gram, and Aunt Kay, died peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2023. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary (Quinn) Brown, she grew up in Springfield and was a 1955 graduate of Technical High School. Kathy exemplified what it meant to be a hard worker, raising five children while waitressing for many years in Springfield. Kathy moved to Feeding Hills in 1998 and made many friends at her apartment complex. Her vivacious personality, charm, and infectious smile were on display at Curves for Women, where she worked as a fitness instructor for over ten years. A lover of chardonnay, lottery tickets, Dr. Phil, and Facebook games, Kathy lived her life to the fullest without any regrets. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is sitting with her feet up reading the daily newspaper, drinking a cup of coffee, and seasoning her meals with plenty of salt. She was predeceased by her husband, Palmer Cardinale. She leaves five children whom she loved unconditionally, Thomas J. Kent, Mary A. Cristelli and her husband, Steven, all of Feeding Hills, Charles W. Kent and his wife, Jennifer, of Georgia, Kathleen M. Franqueza and her husband, Carl, of Feeding Hills, Sue Ellen Joyce and her husband, Thomas, of Boston, her eleven beloved grandchildren, Timothy, Tanya, and Joshua Kent, Rachel Collins, Nicole and Kathleen Cristelli, Daniel and Christopher Kent, Scott Franqueza, Kara Webb, and Virginia Joyce, seven great-grandchildren and several adored nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Donald, Carl, and William Brown, and a sister, Margaret Peeples. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 10 - 11:30am with a service immediately following at 11:30am the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street, Agawam. The burial will be private.
