SPRINGFIELD – Kathleen F. (Donahue) Stowers, 66, died Saturday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born in Springfield and has lived here all her life. She worked in the Linen Department at Mercy Hospital until her retirement in 1998. A transplant recipient, she received a kidney from her brother Michael 12 years ago. Kathleen was a loving wife and sister, she leaves her husband Winthrop "Boomer" Stowers; and siblings and their spouses Daniel and Linda, Michael and Nancy, Christopher and Barbara Donahue, Margaret and Joseph Nadeau and MaryAnn and John DeSousa. She was a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday, June 6th at 12:00 Noon. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service from 11:00 – 12:00. The family would like to thank Wesson Unit 3 at Baystate for the love and care given over the past months.
