Kathryn I. Duclos

1926 – 2025

West Springfield – Kathryn I. (Perry) Duclos, 98 died peacefully Friday evening surrounded by her loving family.  Kathryn was born in West Springfield, daughter of the late Charles and Irene (LaFond) Perry, and has lived here all her life.  She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1944. She was the widow of Paul E. Duclos who died in 1985.  She leaves her sons Richard Duclos of West Springfield and James Duclos (wife Margaret), Melbourne, Florida and daughter Barbara Faulkner (husband Ken), Fort Pierce, Florida; along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Kathryn was predeceased by a daughter Paula Bertera and her husband Norman, and brothers Richard, John, Donald, Robert and Gerald Perry.  Kathryn devoted her life to her family.  Her happiest days were spent on annual trips to Pine Island Lake, Cape Cod, Maine, and in her later years visiting grandchildren in Florida. She was a devout reader who loved spending time at the West Springfield Library.  She also enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts. Weekly outings with her brother, Richard, kept her active into her 90's.  Not one for fanfare, she lived simply but joyfully every day.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home on February 20, 2025 at 11:00am.  A private burial will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery.  For more information and online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the West Springfield Public Library in memory of Kathryn Duclos, online at wspl.org  or by mail to 200 Park St. West Springfield, MA 01089.
