SPRINGFIELD-Sadly, Katina Alice Carter passed away peacefully on Saturday September 13th, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on August 8th 1937 in Fayetteville, NC. Being an Army wife of 20 years, she traveled the world until finally settling in Springfield, Ma to raise her 8 children. She was a devoted wife and mother. She leaves behind the love of her life Henry, her husband of 60 years, Darlene her sister, her 7 children and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son. Committal services will be held on Friday September 19th, 2014 at the Veteran's Cemetery in Agawam, MA at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For more information please go to curranjones.com.
