May 28, 1930 – March 14, 2021
Kenneth Dewayne White was born the son of Marie Frank White Lounsbury and Luther White on May 28, 1930 in Angelica, New York. After losing his father at a young age he entered the foster care system of New York State and was raised for many years by Gertrude and Clarence Nichols, whom he considered his parents, on their farm in Canaseraga, New York. He joined the United States Air Force as a teenager and later settled in Springfield, MA where he married and raised his family. Ken was a talented tradesman roofer and was an owner of K&B Roofing Company. He was a boyscout, explorers leader, and long-time member of the Italian American club, American Legion, and Shriners. He had a big heart in helping the under privileged and elderly, often lending a hand to a friend or neighbor in need. He was an avid dog lover, a collector of beer steins, coins, and hats, and enjoyed playing cards and stripping copper wire to pass the time, along with tending to his vegetable gardens throughout the years. Everyone who knew him knows of his love for cocktails and a good time, often times being spotted on the dance floor at one of his grandkids weddings. After nearly 91 years there is no shortage of memories. He passed on March 14th in his own home where he lived the majority of his life leaving behind his children Raymond White, Robert White, Elaine Hurlbut, and James White and their spouses, along with 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
