Obituary

Kenneth D. Hawbaker, 78, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Scobey, MT, son of the late Roy and Edith (Hrabik) Hawbaker, he grew up in Montana and moved to the Springfield area in the late 1960's, settling in Southwick, MA to raise his family.  He then relocated to Orlando, FL and returned to Feeding Hills, MA in 2017.  Kenneth worked at the Wall Street Journal for 40 years becoming a manager in the advertising department.  He had a Bachelor's Degree in History from Westfield State College.  He had an avid interest in politics, especially the Democratic Party and enjoyed sports, including the Patriots and the Yankees.  He was also an US Army Veteran stationed in Korea and Germany. His wife, Maureen (McMahon) Hawbaker died in 2016.  He leaves two daughters, Alyssa L. and her husband, Michael Fortier of Feeding Hills, Lindsey K. Hawbaker of Southwick, two brothers, James Hawbaker and Harland Hawbaker of MT, two sisters, Donna Grove of MT and Marcia Garcia of NC, three grandchildren, Aidan Fortier, Logan Fortier, and Lily Gibson, sister-in-law, Ann McMahon of Chicopee, and many nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a service at 7pm.  The burial will be private.
