Kenneth J. Jones
1940 – 2011

AGAWAM – Kenneth J. Jones, 71 of Doane Avenue died unexpectedly Wednesday in Baystate Medical Center. Ken was born and raised in Springfield and has lived in Agawam since 1965. He was a Broadcast Engineer for VOX Communications, and had worked for WGGB-TV, Clear Channel Communications, as well as many different radio stations along the East Coast. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 until his discharge in 1960. He leaves his wife of 48 years Delores M. (Walag) Jones; a son Jamieson Jones of Agawam; a sister Barbara Strassberger of Sarasota, FL; his nephew Donald Moore and his wife Gabriele of Feeding Hills; a niece Marilyn Field of Port St. Lucie, FL; a cousin Virginia Paveloi of Agawam and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence B. Jones and Mabel Thurber and two sisters Fern Moore and Marjorie McGann. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday August 9, 2011 at 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
