Kenneth (Mackie) C. Knowlton, died on April 18, 2020. He was the third child of thirteen born to Lillian (Darrah) and Charles J. Knowlton. He was born on September 21, 1929 in Springfield, MA. His wife, Mary, predeceased him in 1984. He leaves his sons, Kevin (Lisa) of Feeding Hills, Craig (Kate) of West Brookfield and Keith of Westfield, and his stepson, Butch (Jessie) Leborgne of Westfield; and five grandchildren, Seneca and Todd (Jess) Leborgne, Cassaundra Knowlton, and Brenden and Colin Knowlton, and three great grandchildren (Ella, Violet and Tyler Leborgne). He also leaves his dearest friend and long-time companion, Esther Lassard of Westfield, MA, and his siblings, Barbara Bohn, William Knowlton, Dorcas Roy, Patricia Desrosiers, Sandra Boutin, Richard Knowlton, and Linda Greaney; sisters-in-law, Patricia and Lillian and many nieces and nephews. Mackie was proud to be a union ironworker and worked on many significant construction projects throughout New England including the Seabrook nuclear power plant and the UMASS high rise dormitories. He also worked many years for the railroad in his younger days. In the late 1940s, he played semi-pro football for the Westside Atomics. Mackie was a strong man and tireless worker and will missed by many. He was an avid football fan and loved to go to the track. Due to the current situation, services are private and there will a celebration of his life later this summer. Curran-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
