Kenneth E. Lessard

1950 – 2022

Agawam – Kenneth E. Lessard, 72, died peacefully Christmas morning surrounded by his loving family.  Ken was born in Springfield the son of the late Theodore and Virginia (Searles) Lessard.  He grew up in West Springfield and was a 1969 graduate of West Springfield High School.  He went on to AIC, where he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Delta fraternity.  He then attended Law School at Western New England College, followed by obtaining his Masters of Arts from Westfield State College and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from AIC.  Along with his family, he moved to Agawam in 1980.  He was a Special Education Teacher at Enrico Fermi High School in Enfield, CT from 1975 until 2013.  He was the Boys and Girls Swimming Coach at Fermi for many years and was recognized by the CT High School Coaches Association as an Outstanding Coach in 2000.  In later years, he became a Driver's Education Instructor for the Enfield Public Schools, as well as the State of Connecticut.  He was an active member of Fitness First in Feeding Hills for many years, where he made many friends.  He coached youth sports in Agawam for his daughters and grandchildren. He was a devoted father and grandfather and had a positive impact on many in his personal and professional lives. He was an avid Boston sports fan, who held season tickets for the Bruins and Red Sox for many years.  He leaves his beloved dog Boss; three daughters, Kara Damseaux (Tom), Krista Hallock (Peter) and Kamaris Lessard (Rick Del Barba); eight grandchildren, Kaylene (Vince), Kyle (Ky), Kory, Ryan, Trevor, Steven, James and Raegan; two great grandsons, Landon and Brent; a sister Patricia Kleeberg and brother Robert Lessard.  Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday, Jan. 3 rd from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
