Kenneth R. Marotte
1930 – 2011

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Kenneth R. Marotte, 80 of Kelly Drive died Thursday in Baystate Medical Center. Kenneth was born in West Springfield and had lived in Springfield, Holyoke, and Westfield before returning to West Springfield 15 years ago. He was a retired Carpenter's Superintendent for the Carpenter's Local #108. He was with the Union for 58 years serving as a Project Manager, Apprentice Teacher and had worked on many projects in the Springfield area including the former Basketball Hall of Fame on Columbus Avenue. He was an avid fisherman and most of all loved to watch his family grow up with great pride. He leaves his wife of 60 years Patricia (Moriarty) Marotte; two sons Kenneth R. Marotte Jr. of Spring Hill, FL, Stephen A. Marotte of Holyoke; and his daughter Colleen M. Boyd of Chicopee. He also leaves his brother Henry M. Marotte of Indian Orchard; two sisters Dorothy Marotte of Edmond, OK, Marlene M. Lemieux of Hudson, NH; eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was predeceased by a brother Walter E. Marotte. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:00am with Liturgy in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
