It is with great love and sadness that the family of Laurier "Larry" Fortier, 93 announces his peaceful passing on November 27, 2020. He passed at home of natural causes embraced by the love and comfort of his family. He was born in Springfield Ma, the beloved son of Joseph and Jeanne (Racine) Fortier. He was an outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. Larry was a faithful friend that had a quiet dignity with both strength and kindness. Larry will be missed by all who knew him. He retired in 1966 as a SFC after 22 years of military service. He served in World War II and the Korean War. Larry was well respected for his expertise in his field of elevator construction and repair. He went on to become District Superintendent of the Northeast Region for Otis Elevator. Larry is survived by his beloved wife Doris (Hamel) Fortier whom he married 68 years ago. His two loving sons Greg and Gary, his favorite daughter Christa and her husband Rick Rindels. He also leaves six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A private burial was held at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA Donations can be made to the WESoldierOn.org for veterans.
