Is is with great sadness that we announce Leah J. Schiavina's passing on May 28, 2022.  In April, Leah celebrated her 101 ^st birthday with family and friends.  She was born in Renazzo, province of Ferrara, Italy on April 11, 1921 to the Luigi and Erminia (Tassinari) Fortini.  Leah married Elio C. Schiavina in 1941 and they were together for forty-five years before his passing in 1986.  Leah was predeceased by her sister, Ada Ferioli in 2013. She was dearly loved  and will be truly missed by her four daughters, Jean Sherlaw and her husband Gary, Shirley Bernarducci and her husband Ronald, Pauline Monteleone and her late husband Joseph, and Debra Jordan and her husband Dave. She also leaves seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and also her niece, Frances Mackintosh and her husband Roy.  Nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, long walks on the beach, baking biscotti, making fresh pasta, and tending to her hydgrangea garden.  We would like to extend a very sincere thanks to the Prosper at Monastery Heights Caregivers and Summit Elder Care caregivers for the care and loving compassion that they provided Leah.  She will never be forgotten and always in our hearts.  Burial will be private for the family.  Donations in Leah's name may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
