Obituary

Lee S. Delnickas

1976 – 2018

West Springfield – It is with great sadness that the family of Lee S. Delnickas, 42, announces his passing Saturday at Baystate Medical Center.  Lee was born in Springfield, grew up in East Longmeadow and had lived in West Springfield for the past five years.  After graduating from East Longmeadow High School in 1995, Lee graduated from the Connecticut Culinary Institute and became a chef.  He worked at the Union Club in Boston and locally at the Longmeadow Country Club and Delaney House.  He leaves his beloved sons Brennan and Ryan Delnickas, the joys of his life; his loving parents Susan and David Gonyea, and Robert Delnickas; his sister Lori Westbrook and her husband Jason; a brother-in-law Brook Heggie; and six nieces and nephews, Avery, Alexander, Ryleigh and Jaxson Westbrook, and August and Aspen Heggie.  Sadly, Lee was predeceased by his younger sister Kari Delnickas-Heggie.  Lee had a tremendous joy for life and warmed the hearts of all who knew him.  He had a great sense of humor and a charming personality and wit.  His passing leaves an enormous void in the lives of those he loved so dearly and who loved him so.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 8:30am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at 11:00am.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass Saturday from 9-10:30am.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  For those wishing, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
