South Hadley-Leo A. Dupont , 93, died at home on March 31, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born Jan. 16, 1922 in Chicopee, MA. He was a machinist before entering the U.S. Army in 1944. After his honorable discharge, he lived in South Hadley and proudly worked for the Town of South Hadley Highway Dept. He loved spending time with his family, his sisters, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families. He was predeceased by his brother Ovila Dupont who died at age 24, and his sister, Cecile Rivest. He leaves his devoted wife of 70 years, Gloria (Bernier) Dupont, his loving sister, Claire Descoteaux of Chicopee, daughters Christine Regis and husband Richard of Granby, and Cynthia Bishop and Walter Bishop of South Hadley. He immensely enjoyed, loved and cherished his 3 grandchildren, Sheila Jolivet, husband Richard Jolivet of Granby, Jennifer Bishop of So. Hadley and Lisa French, husband Brian French of North Carolina. Also, 6 great-granddaughters and 2 great-great-granddaughters. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, both here and in Canada. The funeral will be Monday starting with a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley, MA followed by Mass in St. Theresa's Church at 11 am.
