CHICOPEE – Leon E. Miracle, 71, of Greenpoint Circle died peacefully Sunday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Leon was born and raised in Pineville, KY and has lived in South Hadley and Chicopee most of his life. He was a retired Truck Driver for the former Scott Graphics/James River Graphic Company. He served in the United States Air Force as a truck driver and bomb defuser during the Vietnam War. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, he played in the golf league at Westover for many years and enjoyed country music. He leaves his wife of 50 years Alison (Izatt) Miracle; a son Christopher and his wife Kristen of East Longmeadow; a sister Marie Ralston; his beloved granddaughters, Meghan and Amber and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Joyce Sears, Avery Miracle and Paulene Baird. The funeral will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley Friday October 7, 2016 at 11:00am. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service on Friday from 9:30am – 11:00am. For more details, please visit curranobrien.com.
