Leona R. Lander

WINDSOR, CT-Leona R. (Rush) Lander, 91, died Saturday in a local nursing home. She was born and raised in Enfield, lived in Springfield, before settling in Windsor, CT in 1960. She worked at the former Swift & Son in Hartford and later worked for KMART in Windsor from 1985 to 2003. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church. Leona was predeceased by her husband Joseph H. Lander Sr. and her daughters Anna Duncan and Patricia Bousquet. She leaves her son Joseph H. Lander Jr. and his wife Geraldine of West Springfield, a brother Stanley Rush of Suffield, CT, a sister Victoria Kaplan of Suffield, CT, nine grandchildren, David and Daniel Duncan, Donna Daviau, Cheryl Lemieux , Renee and Scott Bousquet, Linda Coughlin and Joseph B. and John T. Lander and several great grandchildren. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00am in the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial at the Veterans Cemetery in Windsor, CT at a later date.
