Obituary

Leonard A. Lynes, 72, died Friday in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke and lived in Holyoke and South Hadley before moving to Chicopee. He liked to golf and play softball and was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams. He worked for 30 years at Avery Dennison in Holyoke and served in the U. S. Air Force. Most of all Leonard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He leaves his wife of 45 years Halina (Kubetin) Lynes, three sons Kevin Lynes of Methuen, Bryan Lynes and his wife Samantha of South Hadley and Jeremy Lynes of Chicopee, two brothers Bob Lynes and his wife Sue of South Hadley and Raymond Lynes of VA, two sisters Sandra McGeer and her husband Patrick of Holyoke and Theresa Bessette of West Springfield and four grandchildren Tyler, Isabel, Lyna and May. The funeral home service will be Tuesday November 6th at 12 noon at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley, MA. Calling hours will precede the service on Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
