Leslie J. Moore, Jr., 97, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Agawam, son of the late Leslie J. Moore Sr., and Julia (Pitter) Moore, he was a lifelong resident of Agawam and a 1943 graduate of Agawam High School.  Les was the retired owner of Hallmark Moving, a long distance moving company.  He was the past president of the Agawam Lions Club and was instrumental in make the decision that they go to the Big E for their chicken barbecue.  He was an aviation cadet in World War II, a former member of the American Legion Post 185, a member and on the board of directors of the Movers Association of Massachusetts and the former chairman of the Agawam Finance Council. His wife, Rita (Gallagher) Moore died on December 19, 2020.  He leaves a son, Leslie J. Moore, III and his wife, Janet Moore of North Stonington, CT, a daughter, Judith A. Moore of Springfield, four grandchildren, Christian Moore, Angela Moore, Nathan Moore, Eric Moore, and six great-grandchildren.  All services are private and the Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home is in charge.
