Liberatore J. Yacovone, 86, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield, to the late Liberatore and Marietta (DiCarlo) Yacovone. He graduated from Springfield Technical High School and worked for Del Padre and then worked for twenty years as a police officer for the Town of West Springfield. Yac will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving and respected father, playing his many accordions for everyone to enjoy and the "go to man" for anything that needed to be creatively fixed. Liberatore was predeceased by his wife, Lois (Bradley) Yacovone in 1983. He leaves his son, Chaplain (LTC) Paul J. Yacovone, USA retired and his wife Kathy of Madison Heights, VA, a daughter, Ann (Yacovone) Lollio and Bob Fastie both of West Springfield, a brother and his wife, Dino and Betty Yacovone of West Springfield, a sister, Theresa (Yacovone) Walsh of Agawam, five grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother-in-law, Emett Walsh. A private funeral will be at the WEST SPRINGFIELD CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 Main Street with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
