Lillian (Samson) Fitzell, 89, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 16, 2016.  Born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Ernest and Marie (Guilbault) Samson, she was a lifelong resident of South Hadley.  Lillian had worked as a packager for the former Whitings Paper Company.  She attended St. Theresa's Church and enjoyed doing all types of crafts and adult coloring.  Her husband, Edward A. Fitzell died in 2000.  She leaves a daughter, Debra Hale of South Hadley, a brother and his wife, Peter and Gloriann Samson of Chicopee, two sisters, Marguerite Quesnel and Marie Moriarty both of South Hadley, three grandchildren and their husbands, Tracie and Ryan Kennedy, Heather and Brian Dustin, Kimberly and Kevin Hanks, four great-grandchildren, Lillian Dustin, Harper Kennedy, Jacob Dustin, Edward Hanks and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Samson, Francis Samson and a half-sister, Claire LaFlamme.  The funeral will be Wednesday at 11am at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street followed by burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 10-11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holyoke VNA & Hospice, 575 Beech Street, Holyoke, MA 01040-5105.
