Feeding Hills – Lillian L. (Chaisson) Provost, 95 died Sunday at home surrounded by her loving family. Lillian was born in Springfield and has lived in Feeding Hills for the past 73 years. During World War II, She worked as a drill press operator at the Springfield Armory, working on trigger housings. Lillian was proud of her Native American Heritage and was known by the native name of "Grandmother of Wolves" in the Micmac Tribe. She was active at the Agawam Senior Center. Lillian was married to Arthur N. Provost, a member of the Huron Tribe, who died in 1994. She leaves four children Paula and David Provost, Wendy Sheehan and her husband Fran, and Laurie Chaisson; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held in Springfield Street Cemetery Wednesday at 11:30am. Visiting hours will be held prior to the graveside service at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00am. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
